I have admired and been influenced by many writers, performances and musicians. David Bowie and King Crimson stand out. I hugely admire the works of Thomas Dolby, Bill Nelson and David Sylvian.

My first musical memories are from the early seventies. I have vivid memories of leaping around to Ride A White Swan with my friend Richard – in the same collection of memories as hiding behind the settee because I was afraid of the Daleks.

We moved house to the other side of town. New friends, seldom seen of heard from now but always lifelong, and then came punk. The Buzzcocks were (and still are) fantastic – great pop songs but also more sophisticated and proficient than they often get credit for. And other local bands like The Distractions who I think released a number of classics.

Then the 80’s…………
